The Article 20 workers returned to Kuwait from Manila on December 15 and were in quarantine for 14 days. All workers tested negative before leaving the quarantine facility.

During the quarantine period, the workers were comfortably accommodated in four-star facilities including meals, laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi. Another batch of Filipino workers will complete their quarantine period next week.

Al Khezeim mentioned that the 28 Article 20 workers arrived through BelSalamah.com a first of its kind platform developed by NAS to facilitate return of Article 20 workers from the 34 high-risk countries to Kuwait for the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Kuwait. The platform allows for flight bookings on Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways as well as a complete package for clearance and transportation from the airport, accommodation, meals, laundry services and PCR tests both in their home country as well as in Kuwait.

Sponsors as well as travel agents can book through the platform via mobile phones, laptops or personal computers. PCR results are also available for viewing.

Belsalamah.com not only helps sponsors bring back their workers to Kuwait in a faster, smoother and safer manner but also ensures that workers that board the flight are COVID-19 free through MUNA, which specifies laboratories in their home countries that are approved by the Kuwait Ministry of Health. This helps protect other passengers, airport staff and the Kuwaiti population overall. It also assists the fulfillment of COVID-19 travel requirements with reduced waiting time and disruption.

Agents on the ground will call and follow up with the passengers and a 24-hour helpdesk is also available to answer queries or address any technical challenges.

Al-Khezeim concluded by congratulating the Kuwait Council of Ministers on their decision to reopen the Kuwait International Airport on the scheduled date. This will assist in restoring airport activities and continuing the return of Article 20 workers through the BelSalamah.com platform. BelSalamah.com will continue to accept new reservations and amend previous bookings as required.
